1D at party in the park 2012

party in the park is a free concert held every year at temple newsam in leeds, to thank tax-payers. it's run by a local radio station called radio aire, and basically, they hire maybe 8 or 9 current music acts to play on the stage throughout the day. they also have fairground rides and little activity tents at the back of the event. the acts this year were the likes of stooshe, tulisa, wretch 32, professor green, etc. but the big 'headline' act was one direction; they were the only reason i went haha! who could give up the opportunity to see one direction for free when people pay hundreds for the privelage? 

most of my friends either weren't interested or busy, so i went with my sister. the idea with #pitp is to get there before it opens, so that you can grab yourself a good spot close to the stage and then wait it out until the 'headline' acts come up, but we slept in and got there at around 2pm. the event was packed! we wandered around for maybe half an hour, not being able to find any space at all, and we ended up as far back as you can be, behind a tree, not being able to see anything! i thought it'd be okay though, because my camera zooms quite far, so i just figured i'd watch it through the screen while i filmed.

we did get up and stand closer when 1D came on though. they were on suprisingly early, really. with them being so popular, i'd have thought they would be the acts on last, but apparently they had to rush away to work on a new album (?) so they had an earlier slot. they're quite good live, really, and i'm not ashamed to say that i quite enjoy their music (and their beautiful, beautiful faces). we left right after them because it was just WAY too busy.

they only did three songs. the first one was 'one thing' which i quite like. the second was 'up all night', which i didn't know, so i spent that time taking pictures, then they did 'what makes you beautiful', which is a fucking GREAT SONG, you can't deny it. x
